I about fell off my chair this week when I saw the headlines that Obama was discussing a BIGGER Stimulus Plan. This TRULY IS what insanity looks like.
Obamatrons, Krugman and the rest of these Keynesian-drones are out of their minds.
Hayek is on video recalling that even Keynes wouldn’t support his own fiscal policy philosophies if we were in “dangerous” economic times. The only thing he was sure of is “..he would disapprove of what his pupils have done with his doctrines.”
I’m one to think that a $14 TRILLION National Debt, runaway deficit spending, secret discount window transactions with foreign National Banks through the Fed, the absolute debasing of the American Dollar, moral hazard between politicians and the banks they bail out, (etc., etc.) would all be reasons Keynes would be disgusted by the way his worshipers have “waved his banner” while pooping on his name and the next generations of Americans.
When the GOP takes over this Fall, they better be ready to scale things down and that means the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX TOO.
It’s time to stop putting off the inevitable.
Continuing to choose to pass the pain to the grandchildren’s generation is despicable.
Are you referring to the 6th panel’s depiction of Obama clapping a hand over the entire left side of his head?
That is the only thing I can think of that you might label a “stupid mistake”, that I can see in the cartoon. Of course, I didn’t even see it until you asked us all to look for a mistake.
Not that- put your hand up to your face and it will cover it. No the mistakes were in the frames where Obama had his hands thrown back- the thumbs should be pointing outward. That’s all.
As far as your article is concerned what he’s trying to do is a good thing and he would deserve praise for it, however there are two problems (don’t wet your shorts anonotard). One: it only lasts until the end of next year, make it permanent. Two: to get this program going he needs investors to help business foot the up front costs. So make the Bush tax cuts permanent. We’re only talking (according to your article) a matter of a 3~5% drop vs pre-Bush tax cuts. Remember you can’t get a job from a poor person, you can only get jobs from (GASP!) rich people…keep them taxed at a high rate and they’ll find ways not to invest money.
Actually, Anon’s post there is full of much more than simply a crude insult. There are indications of his angst over the fact that Steve has made an accurate statement that Anon cannot refute.
Such facts that incontrovertibly show how flawed Anon’s arguments heretofore have been, must engender such feelings of inadequacy in himself that the only possible response is a juvenile attempt to redirect the focus of the debate onto Steve’s supposed lack of economic knowledge.
Consider this, Anon has been stating over and over that our economy is improving, in spite of the assertions of both myself, Steve, and countless others that the economy is still having some serious issues. Instead of admitting that the multitude of responses could possibly be correct, Anon chose to insult everyone and state that “obviously, no one but him could comment upon the state of the US economy with any intelligence whatsoever”. Having now to eat crow, Anon again chooses to act out, rather than act constructively.
Here is a very serious indicator of why bipartisan politics never actually work. It is more important to Anonymous, (and by extension to most liberals) to put down his “opposition” rather than to work to find a solution.
If liberals could admit that their policies have failed, than we could start to actually do something about the economy, however they cannot and will not make any such admissions. It is unimportant to the Liberal agenda that many of their underlying assumptions about how an economy operates are wrong. It is more important to them, to make sure they hold onto power as long as they can. (To be fair, many republicans share this same failing.)
I am reminded of a story I heard once, about a man who was finally able to take control of a ship, after years of attempting to do so, and even after running it aground on a reef, refused to relinquish his hold on the helm even to save his own life. It was more important to him, to be able to steer the ship, even after the rudder had been totally destroyed, than to save himself.
Being able to admit that one has made a mistake, even if that mistake is thinking that one is qualified to captain a vessel when that is obviously not the case, is a sign of maturity. People exist who have that skill set, and are willing to exert themselves to repair and pilot the ship, but if the incompetent refuse to step down… *shrug* They have only themselves to blame as the sinking ship drags them down with it. Unfortunately, a sinking ship typically drags more than just one incompetent down to the bottom.
How many will die, just to satisfy one man’s ego? We’re still counting.
Yea, deflect and obvuscate, typical anonotard SOP. Since you seem to want to just attack and insult, answer this one cupcake. BObo’s proposing another $180 billion spending plan, of which, supposedly, $30 billion is going towards this business plan. What’s the other $150 billion going to? You know, the whole point of this comic is about useless spending. Why are you even trying to justify spending all this money when our economy is in the shitter?
And to those who thought that the TEA Party was a fringe group of whackos and believe that our country, two yrs into BObo’s presidency, is doing well…I say this…at least twice as many folks admire or approve of the TEA Party vs those who approve of Congress or about as much approval as our beloved BObo is getting….and those who feel our country is going in the wrong direction is at about 60%. Not the worst it’s ever been but the bottom line, we bought a line of hope and change from the democraps and all we got was the same as the repukelicans. Only difference is, this guy’s a Jimmy Carter.
“I addressed the actual topic I felt like addressing, and my phsycological analysis of your one line post was free of charge. You are welcome.”
@Shawn
You couldn’t defend the topic so you changed the subject. Then you ranted on personal opinion about the new topic. In other words, as usual you have nothing to offer to this discussion. Got it.
@Steve
For those who KNOW the Tea Party is a fringe group of wackos. Lets just look at Christine O’Donnell:

There’s so much I could go on about and this is only ONE of your wackos. You’ve got even more crazy where this came from.
I didn’t change the topic Anon, you did. I simply followed along with it.
You can find all kinds of crazy stuff about anybody. The point is, that the Democratic Party and the Republican Party both need to wake up. They do not rule us.
Do the words, “government of the people, by the people, for the people” ring any bells?
Since Lincoln is supposedly Obama’s idol I’d expect that he has read those words once or twice.
The Tea Party is serving one very important purpose. It is showing both Democrats and Republicans that they cannot simply run roughshod over people anymore. They need to start paying attention to what WE want instead of simply using their power to keep special interests and those who give them money, happy.
Because otherwise, we will vote them out.
Besides, we need crazy people in the government. Aren’t they supposed to be “representative” of the people?
Since you brought it up, your accusatons are only half right:
h__p://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/09/17/christine-odonnell-no-tax-hikes-no-abortion-no-masturbation/
The majority of American people want our govt to spend and tax less, even our first black president said we should listen to the TEA Party. The Democratic party doesn’t want talk about taxing less and spending less, that’s not in their lexicon. The issues of cutting taxes and reducing spending needs to be brought to the forefront of our concern.
And by the way, we’ve gone off track a bit (I will take full blame for that one by bringing up the TEA Party people). Please can anyone answer the question as to what the other $150 BILLION is going to be spent on? And, why are the tax cuts not permanent? Why are we continuing to spend when our economy is in the shitter? Here’s another one, why do we need this second “stimulus” bill if the economy is getting better? Is it not getting better? Are we headed for a second recession? Can anyone answer those questions?
No you really went kinda off tangent on your own there, bud.
As for the tea party being a force of good. Maybe before groups like Americans for Prosperity got a hold of them I’d agree with you. As it stand now it’s a fringe Right wing group. Think of them like bizzaro green party.
What’s going to happen is it’ll splinter the Republican party and take it so far right that they’ll guarantee Obama a second term. Remember these are only primaries.
@Steve
I’ve already addressed you point about the tax cuts here:
h__p://furiousdiaper.com/?p=2646#comments
As well if you’re going to say “the majority of Americans”, I’m going to want to see some citation. Otherwise I’m just going to assume it’s a Republican thing. Which is the minority right now.
And I believe I answered your point on tax cuts in that cartoon as well.
Here…read this:
h__p://www.realclearpolitics.com/docs/mar25pollresults.pdf
Read the third question down about “threats” to economic performance of our economy…read the whole article and this question, but pay close attention to “Expansion of the government’s role in the economy” 50% say it’s a major threat and 28% say it’s a medium threat..so yea I’d say that along with the other issues in that question deem this the “Majority of Americans”.
Spot. On.
Again I am laughing out loud!! Nice!
LOL!!
Right on.

Hayek is cool. And speaking of Keynes, did anyone notice that I was quoting him in this cartoon from a couple of weeks ago?
“Does anyone notice the stupid mistake I made?”
Are you referring to the 6th panel’s depiction of Obama clapping a hand over the entire left side of his head?
That is the only thing I can think of that you might label a “stupid mistake”, that I can see in the cartoon. Of course, I didn’t even see it until you asked us all to look for a mistake.

Oh..yea and guess what? Unemployment went from 9.5% to 9.6%…sucks to be so liberal and soo wrong.
LOL, Steve trying to talk economics again? Hilarious.
Yup, you only have insults to come back with, you’re totally useless!

I think if we replace Obama with “Anonymus” and Spend! with “Post!” then we’ve killed two birds with one stone.
For 6ish paragraphs of nonsensical ranting, Shawn didn’t once address the actual topic. As well, again… Steve talks about “come backs”.
BACK TO THE ACTUAL POINT.
